It still feels like I’m on holiday, every time I do wedding photography in St Ives, flashing back to days gone by of seagulls stealing my chips out of my hand, that light which hits you like a rubber mallet on the back of your head as you approach the peninsular, and not being more than 6ft from a hot steaming pastie at any one time, it’s great! I love to visit, and being a wedding photographer in St Ives is just awesome.
Amanda and Sketch, two really talented individuals, Amanda a former photographic stylist for the likes of Mel Grundy and Lord Lichfield, so no pressure there, and Sketch who is a well established urban graffiti artist with incredible raw talent delivering workshops and assigned works of art all over the world…..mmm, better step up here then I thought.
After a funky bridal prep at Amanda’s designed home, we headed to the beach at Gunwalloe on The Lizard in Cornwall, where Poldark was filmed apparently, my wife seems to know quite a lot about Poldark, for some reason, in a church filmed during the series, very moody and full of atmosphere, this couple had chosen well, especially to fit in with their boho gothic style.
I was not alone in shooting this Cornish wedding, my old friend from uni who I studied photography with second shot for me, and did a sterling job with groom prep in the morning at the St Ives Harbour Hotel, and the evening party time, always in keeping with my documentary wedding photography style, he really got a firm hold of what I was after, along with the clients.
So no more chat, it was a really fun and fab day, with some amazing people and scenery along the way.
Please take a look through the pictures, and I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you for looking and your time.
