If you have your very own beach as a Cornish wedding venue then you are, in my opinion out of the blocks to a great start straight away. And if all this isn’t enough, you have some serious views from the top of Polhawn Fort, on the Rame Peninsula in South East Cornwall, and if your lucky enough you get to watch the sun slowly set overlooking the sea and Whitsand Bay, just like Beth & Rowan did.
Inside the Fort is magnificent, especially for wedding photographers, photogenic brick on the ceilings and walls, ( yes, I really did just write photogenic brick!) shafts of light that pour in through window turrets. When I arrived first thing for Beth’s bridal preparation I was greeted by not only a room full of excited fun and friendly bridal squad, but this super light!
Rowan was equally finding some seriously cool light to get ready in with his best man, this venue and day was shaping up nicely already.
The wedding ceremony took place outdoors, and the walk for Beth and her dad was another wedding photography gift, walking across the front lawn of the Fort clifftop with the sparkling sea in the background, was inch perfect.
Here are some kind words Beth and Rowan left for me on my website after their day…
“Gareth photographed our wedding at Polhawn Fort back in September. He was a pleasure to have around on the day and puts everyone at ease. The photos were absolutely amazing and we are still chuffed looking at them months later! They’re better than we ever imagined and we are so glad went with Gareth and can’t thank him enough for producing some stunning photos that we’ll cherish forever. Can’t recommend him highly enough! Such a talented photographer and all round lovely chap!”
The day finished as it started, brilliant atmosphere and light, a great party was had and the moves certainly came out of a few lockers. I’m lucky enough to be back at Polhawn Fort next month to document another wedding, so hopefully will do it all again!
Thanks for looking and taking the time, here are a few dozen images below to show what we all got up to. If you are looking for a Polhawn Fort wedding photographer or a Cornwall wedding photographer please get in contact.
