Now this place is different, really different, based in South Brent, Devon, but to be fair could be sitting anywhere, Las Vegas for one. Quirky is a word I would use with confidence to describe Glazebrook House Hotel, sophisticated but with a load of fun at the same time, drums and trumpets attached to the walls, this became the norm after a brief look around the house on first inspection.
The wedding venue has an Alice in Wonderland theme running through the whole property, and this was a big draw for the couple Natalie and Oli, who wanted to escape the hype of city life in London where they live, as both Natalie and Oli wanted something a little bit different for their wedding, and safe to say they found it.
The couple also wanted to find a unique wedding photographer, and this is amazingly how they found me, who they believed along with my reportage documentary style vibe of photography could capture the quirkiness along with the crazy fun that the house had up for offer with photography. I was humbled by this, hand picked and let loose to go as crazy as a box of Mad Hatters in this wonderful unique house for a day.
We never left the house hardly, as both Natalie and Oli were keen for all photography to be shot indoors, with the exception of a juicy glass of Pimms on the lawn of course, and why would you want to leave, the place was buzzing and crying out to be photographed.
It was a fun day, with a lovely couple, the pre shoot a couple of weeks previous was a giggle too, we found this run down old rusty barn, which was amazing! On the grounds of Anran Barns, just up the road where the bridal prep took place on the morning of the wedding, this too suited them both immensely, high fashion stylised photography with another awesome back drop to play and get absorbed in.
I’ve included a couple of images from the pre shoot at the end of this blog, as this sits perfectly with the couple, and what they both wanted to achieve with their pictures.
And so, a nod to Glazebrook House and Natalie and Oli, who quite simply just wanted something a little different.
Thanks for your time folks.
